Home / Showcase

Build it. Record it. Present it.

At KiteLabs a project is not finished when it works. It is finished when your child has explained it, on camera and on stage, to the people who matter most to them.

How every project lands

From workbench to presentation

  1. Build

Each child takes a project from an idea to something that works, with an instructor alongside. The work is theirs from the first sketch to the final fix.

  2. Record

In our recording studio they film a presentation of what they made, or talk it through as a podcast. They learn to tell the story of their own work clearly.

  3. Present

The project closes with a showcase in our amphitheatre, in front of parents and classmates. It is the recognition their hard work deserves.

The recording studio

Learning to tell the story of their own work

Explaining something well is a different skill from building it. In the studio, children plan what they want to say, record a presentation of their project and watch it back.

Some sessions are recorded as podcasts, where children talk through what they tried, what went wrong and what they would do next.

The amphitheatre

A stage for every child

Families are invited in to see what the children have made. Each child stands up, shows their project and explains how it works.

For parents it is a chance to see real progress. For children it is proof that their effort counted, in front of the people whose opinion they care about most.

Why we do it

What the showcase gives your child

A confident voice

Speaking in front of an audience gets easier every time. Children who present often stop being afraid of it.

Deeper understanding

You only find out whether you understand something when you try to explain it. Preparing to present sends children back to fill the gaps.

Recognition that is earned

Applause for something they built themselves means more than a mark on a test, and gives them a reason to aim higher next time.

Come and meet us

We keep batches small, so places are limited and every family starts with a visit. Bring your child, see a session, and talk to us about what they would enjoy.
